    OS Problem -- Windows 7 to 8?


    Hello all, I came here to ask a question. I currently have windows 7 and have a problem that seems to be occurring to a lot of people. The answer I continually get is: The problem is not solvable under current standards. It's NOT a graphics card problem, my computer is NOT overheating, it is NOT solved by Microsoft's official 'solved' page (“Display driver stopped responding and has recovered” - Microsoft Community). My problem is that, randomly, especially when im browsing youtube or the web, my computer screen freezes, turns black, then comes back and the message pops up "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered successfully." Problem is, every now and then it freezes and stays frozen. Personally, I feel the problem is an update to windows 7 OS as many people who have this issue seem to be windows 7 users (I could be wrong tho). My question is: Will this problem be solved by switching to windows 8? Or is this a motherboard problem that occurs over any OS. Thanks

    Unfortunately there is no way to answer this question.

    It is very possible that doing an upgrade will resolve the problem, but it will not be because the underlying issue was resolved, rather than all files would have been refreshed and updated.

    Have you tried doing a complete uninstall of the drivers and reinstall earlier drivers?
    This is more likely..

    1.) Hardware issue with either and most likely the Video card, or some other hardware issue

    2.) Driver issue

    3.) OS Corruption issue

    Try fully uninstalling and cleaning up the current video drivers... and reinstall or try an earlier version..

    Also try sfc /scannow

    Thanks for the reply, I am uninstalling and reinstalling the driver software now. Will see how that goes!

    Well, I did the driversweeper delete all nvidia drivers and reinstall, and still did not fix the problem. I tried the sfc /scannow, repaired some files, but still didn't fix the problem. Very frustrating. People have said it may be the motherboard? Hm.

    Its a graphics card issue, hardware related in my opinion, see if your card si still under warranty.
