I would recommend that you buy Win7 and install that instead of going back to Vista, if you can spend the $100. Win7 runs much better than Vista and is so similar that you won't have any "learning curve" at all,. Win7 runs really well on laptops, especially if you have at least 2GB of RAM and a decent video chip in it. Basically, if your PC ran Vista acceptably (performance-wise), then it will run extremely well with Win7. My .02 worth. Sorry to hear of your problems...
