How to increase thumbnail cache in windows 8 ?

Is there a way to increase the icon cache so that explorer could display folders more quickly. Currently, explorer tries to re-read folders and it slows down browsing folders . Any idea ?

I just learned something new at windows 7 - How can I increase the thumbnail cache or maximum thumbs.db size per folder? - Super User

It says the problem may lie in the behavior of windows 8 deleting thumbnail cache too often. Stop/Prevent Windows 7 From Deleting Thumbnail Cache

It is interesting to see that windows 8 explorer often deletes thumbnail cache and therefore makes it difficult to browse folders with a lot of thumbnails enabled.
