Time and date keep changing

I recently installed Windows 8 Pro on my Acer Aspire 5515 notebook. I set the time and date on the desktop clock, and every time I log in, the time and date are wrong and I have to reset them again. I have a dual boot setup with Windows 8 on one partition, and Ubuntu 12.10 on the other.

It doesn't appear to be an issue with the hardware of my computer, because the time and day stay set in Ubuntu. Some time ago, I was running a boot time diagnostic, and I got a warning the the was not timer connected to the apic...but that's all I could read before the message disappeared, I researched what I could and learned that this could and learned this had something to do with a physical component of my processor or related to my processor, but was unable to find out any more. As far as I know, this is the only hardware problem I have, and I thought this might be the cause of my erratic time/date.

Any thoughts?

The bios time and windows time are set properly. If I, say turn off my computer and retrun to windows later, the bios time will still be correct, as will the time in Ubuntu 12,10 on a separate partition, but Windows clock time will have changed.

The CMOS battery in my computer is fine.

Replaced battery in laptop. Time and date still change if I restart. Stay set perfectly in Ubuntu, so I knew it wasn't the battery. Surely someone else has had this problem and found a solution.

Have you tried synchronising your system clock with a time server?
On the legacy desktop, right-click the clock at the bottom right corner and select Adjust date/time.
In the next window, go to the Internet Time tab and click on "Change settings".
Tick Synchronize with an Internet time server, and select time.windows.com from the drop-down menu; click Update now.

Have you set the time to automatically update its self ?

Control panel->Administrative Tools->Services and double check if Windows Time service is running and set to automatic. If not, Open elevated command prompt:
  1. net stop w32time
  2. w32tm /unregister
  3. w32tm /register
  4. net start w32time
  5. Click on the clock on the bottom right->change date and time settings->click on internet time tab, click Change settings->tick on Synchronize with an Internet time server, select time.windows.com, click on update now, click on OK.

EDIT: It may be a good idea to run step 1-4 to restore Windows Time service on local computer to default settings
