    I have a new HP laptop with Windows 8 and Office 2010 installed. Word 2010 has become unresponsive - I can't print documents.

    Is Office 2010 updated? through windows update?
    I don't have any problems with Office 2010 here...

    You might scan with Malwarebytes, and see if you have any virus/malware. What do you mean it becomes unresponsive? Do you mean it freezes? And could you please fill in your system specs using Speccy?
