Set Process Priority permanently in Windows 8

    Hey Guys
For Windows Vista/7, there was a very useful Tool called "Prio", with which one could set and save the priority of a process directly inside the Task Manager...
But now in Windows 8, that Tool isn't working anymore, and there seem to be no alternatives either
Does anybody know, how it's possible to set the priority of a process permanently in Windows 8?
Doesn't matter if by a Tool or by Coding, but is it possible somehow?

Hello Hayyya, and welcome to Eight Forums.

You can't permanently set process priority level, but you could use the tutorial below to make setting it easier from the context menu instead.

"Run with Priority" - Add or Remove from Context Menu - Windows 7 Forums

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Sry If I bump an old thread but I've just used the .reg file to add the keys to my windows 8.1, the context menu shows up but the .exe don't launch they don't show up in the task manager at all, do the registry keys need to be tweaked in order to work in windows 8.1?

    Hello Artins,

It works for me in Windows 8.1 when testing with Notepad.

What .exe file are you doing this for?

Does it require to "Run as administrator"?

I figured out what was the problem it doesn't seem to work with shortcuts but it works just fine if I navigate to the folder and start the exe from there, is there a way to make it work with shortcuts? This context menu is very helpful because it allows the user to save time by avoiding to open the task manager to change the priority, but it becomes kind of useless If I have to browse through the folders in order to use it

I'm afraid that I'm not sure other than directly from the .exe file.
