    Metro "All Apps" View

    Anyone else getting this problem?
When I click on All Apps on the Metro UI by right clicking on it, it just hangs there and shows a grey screen (My theme for metro.) Nothing comes up, when I press the Windows key it sortof glitches and relunches the Metro UI.
I'm considering doing a clean install now.

Hello Motofota, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Check Windows Update, and install all available updates. There's a fix available in Windows Update that should fix this. Afterwards, try again.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Mhm.. Strange. I had all the updates installed. And so I installed all of them, rebooted.. and volia! It it was fixed. Just now I reinstalled all the updates and the problem reappeared. I'll uninstall one-by-one and see which one causes the problem.

In addition, here are a few more things to check/try.

If you have a 3rd party AV or Firewall program installed, then uninstall/reinstall it. Sometimes updating it to the lasts version will help if it's not already.

Double check to make sure that the Windows Firewall service is set to be Running and Automatic.

If this still doesn't help, then refreshing Windows 8 usually will.

Okay, I comfirmed it for myself that Update;KB2756872 was causing me the problem that the All Apps screen wouldn't show. I uninstalled and I hope MS will patch it in the next update. I'll refresh my windows anyways, too much junk. Thanks for your help, Brink.

That's great news. Thank you for posting back with your results.

If you haven't already, you can hide the KB2756872 update to not have it listed anymore.

Well, here is a fun one. A coworker spent the entire day getting a Windows 8 machine up and ready for imaging. As part of the process, he went ahead and let it update the metro apps from the store. Big mistake: Apparently updating Metro apps breaks sysprep; Sysprep giving "fatal error" --...
