windows 8; Would it reduce performance?

hi guys, i just want to ask your opinion about Windows 8. So now, i have currently windows 7, which uses only 1 GB right? While windows 8 uses 2GB. I currently have 4GB ram all in all. Do you think my ram would be enough to run windows 8 while not affecting my gaming? I play games like NBA 2k13, Fifa 13, Crysis, Call of duty and other games and im planning to try other new games that would come out this year. My main concern is, would upgrading to windows 8 might have a big reduce of performance on my computer? (because windows 8 uses 2GB ram while i have only 4GB) Im really eager to try the new Operating system but im hesitating. So please share your thoughts on me. Thanks.

by the way, sorry guys if i posted in the wrong section.

Generally speaking 8 use less ram than 7. And ram is one of the cheapest things you can upgrade.

Better optimized to make better use of hardware. An 8gb ram upgrade would be like 40. It's really that cheap. Cheaper than the cost of one game.

The system requirements are not a real-time example of how much RAM the system uses while idle or under load.
