Constant WerFault.exe and wemgr.exe

Runnning W8 x64. Upgraded from W7 x64. Ran ok for a few days. Then I started seeing the round busy icon almost constantly flickering. Ran Process Monitor and Process Explorer which is how I found that windows search seemed to be the culprit. I stopped that process and lo and behold the busy icon thing went away as did the werfault and wemgr processes. Should I just leave search disabled or is there more at issue here?

try sfc /scannow to repair any damaged files, worth a shot, also check indexing under control panel , make sure it showing complete. I have seen other user complain about this. Nothing beats fresh install but if you cant that is ok.
