Wasn't sure where to exactly put this question
I have a xampp home server that I use for web development projects
I had been using Comcast for residential ISP and had zero problems
However (for cost reasons) switched to CenturyLink and now I can't ping my public IP address, by that I mean if I do a whatismyip it returns
71.36.126.19
but if I try to ping it via command line I get a request time out and I can not access my site via the ip address, but I can access via the local ip example, 192.168.0.4
i can ping other addresses example
Google 8.8.8.8
ping www.eightforums.com
no problems, it just my own public ip I can't reach
talking to CenturyLink is next to impossible to troubleshoot, sometimes I think they have no networking experience at all. I talk of ping and tracert and they have no clue what I mean.
any suggestions?
