Hello All

I've just went from complete signal to one bar, which is making webpages and other stuff run slow / hang.

To provide some background:
- My partner's laptop is still 100% for wifi
- when I take my laptop to the router in the other room, the signal goes up to 2 bars
- I uninstalled avast; the only firewall / anti virus that was installed, but problem persists..
- I have had recent blue screen problems; this was with Windows 10, and since I went back to 8, it has persisted. this blue screen was KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE-ERROR. This still persists despite doing a cmd prompt scan disk command to solve the program. It briefly seemed to help, but since just before the drop off of wifi, has reared it's ugly head.
- I've ran a diagnositic on the internet connection through the control panel on connections, and it doesn't find a problem.

Any help from you guys much appreciated :)

Sounds like the antenna for your laptop's WiFi is disconnected, The few laptops i have seen have the antenna on the monitor side.

Have you been playing around with the covers of your laptop. On the few laptops I have seen the WiFi card is located either underneath the cover for the Ram or the hard drive.

Do a google search on your laptops make and model to find where the WiFi card is located and see if the antenna cord is disconnected or loose.

If you filled out your system specks I would of found a picture of it for you.
