Hey guys, what does your Shared folders say? is this how your guys Shared folders look as well in the "computer Management" window pane and select Shares as in the picture..

The reason I am a little confused is that V, Q, Y, Z are just external USB hard drives.. but they say "default share"

Perhaps that doesn't mean they are shared but why do they label it as such a "default" share?

Just wondering if yours looks the same

thanks

Ok thanks.

but did read this in that..

The administrative shares can be deleted just as any other network share, only to be recreated automatically at the next reboot.[SUP][1][/SUP] It is, however, possible to disable administrative shares.[SUP][2][/SUP]

I understand it is possible to disable administrative shares (but have never done so myself). But also read:

"Disabling administrative shares is not without caveats.[3] Previous Versions for local files, a feature of Windows Vista and Windows 7, requires administrative shares to operate."

While not specifically mentioned Windows 8 also has this feature. I wouldn't disable administrative shares without good reason and understanding of the implications. Just because something is possible doesn't make it a good idea.

Ok well.. i just found it funny that it has to share my usb drives as well..

frankly I don't care about the local drives.. but when it "has to share" my plugged in usb drives.. that kinda gave me a angry face.. that's all..

come on thats ridiculous to have to share even something that is plugged into usb..

I can only chalk it up to networking booting up and stuff that it needs to see those ... god.. who knows..
