    Change to Google DNS?

Have you guys changed to Google DNS servers?? is this something we all should be doing?? for what all I've read, it's faster and this and that, but are there reasons to "not" change to google dns?

I haven't done it yet but am now thinking to.

I especially want to see if it helps load youtube videos faster.. I have a fast enough connection so I feel like its being held back by something but not sure what..

    thanks

Go ahead and try, no harm can be done. OpenDNS is another option, am using that one, definitely (not just imagination :O) faster than my isp dns.

Ok well when reseraching opendns, they were bought by Cisco which is great, but now it is a pay service yes? You pay to use openDNS now correct?

I'm seeing a lot more "Gateway 504 errors"

does that have to do with DNS???

    Probably not.

A 504 Gateway Timeout error, also called an HTTP 504 error, means that one server didn't receive a response from another quickly enough so it timed out.
I'm also using the OpenDNS servers 4wd mentioned.

Ok well then Where/What should I do to troubleshoot Gateway 504 Errors Ztruker??

Then I guess I have no reason to switch to OpenDNS if it doesn't help Gateway 504 errors yes?

It wouldn't hurt to try it. At least that would prove it's not a DNS problem. Only takes a minute to make the change.
