DNS Client events. Tried nearly everything to fix it

I get DNS Client events on event viewer and I loose connnection please look at my 2 forums in HP & Microsoft first have all the info you need so I dont have to type all of it in again: MY HP FORUMS POST: Wifi Adapter Issues - HP Support Forum - 5381113

Also tried factory reset sfc scannow does not find anything also DISM scanhealth and restore health. Also I do not have the latest network card since it causes BSODS (the update comes from windows update not manufacturer website) the older driver versions of network card Realtek RTL8723BE from manufactrers website do not cause BSODS

Hi, I own a HP device as well, it's going to have a built in network diagnostic as well as the Windows troubleshooting. If that doesn't fix it,
change the DNS servers to the following IP's (these are google's DNS servers)
Preferred: 8.8.8.8
Alternative: 8.8.4.4

Run in an elevated command prompt (admin)

Run: sfc /scannow
It's going to take awhile

If you have READ my forums in HP AND MICROSOFT forums you will know I have tried that. So I insist reading before posting(not being rude). I have tried Sfc scannnow found nothing also DISM SCAN HEALTH AND RESTORE still not fixed also factory reset and hard drive wipe the factory reset.

Your network card is toast. Replace it.
DNS client issues are a red herring. The errors aren't causing the disconnect, the disconnect is causing the errors.
Latest drivers cause bsod? Go drop 20 bucks on a new mini pcie card and see what happens, or stick a usb adapter in and shut this one off.

And after that last post you are lucky to get even this much of a response.

The DNS Clients did not happen today or yesterday yet. When my network card stops working then I will replace it since i still have retailer warranty(Currys&Pc World---- KNOWHOW Tech team)

if you are having such major issues like you can't even install the latest drivers of your network card, that is the red flag enough to use a new one.

Try a fricken $10 usb wifi adapter.. I bought them from amazon.. it works and no more problems.. otherwise you will have to wait till HP solves it.. ha.. keep waiting for that one..


after you've tried the $10 usb wifi adapter, then you can see it's clearly your terrible network card inside... which the fastest most reliable solution is to replace that network card inside.. or the quick easy $10 usb wifi adapter from amazon..

you choose how much stress you want to deal with..

It's ok now fixed the connection issue and that by deleting hosts file and getting it back by a command. Warnings about the dns client still happens but less often now, went to retailer they said adapter is fine no need to replace it. I think it is a problem with the hosts file. And that problem with the latest network driver is Realteks fault since I know others facing same problem.

really, a problem with the hosts file?? who told you that? send me the link to that article if there is one..

so again, it's a driver problem which again means it's an unfortunate specific to that network card issue.. If Realtek comes out with a new driver in the future and it solves it then ok you are good to go.. but you shouldn't have to deal with dns errors..

atleast get a $10 amazon usb wifi adapter just to try to see if you still get dns errors.. because if you still do get dns errors, then you can atleast start to know you got malware or virus or it's your settings inside windows networking..

reset your router if you haven't also.. make sure you know passwords and how to access your router webpage.. it would be in your manual or look up your specific router model number in google and you'll find all the info too.. it's easy..


do yourself a favor and get with 2015 and use these programs..

TFC.exe.. run that every time you do something bad on the internet.. (clears your temp files..)

I might be wrong about the problem is with the hosts file. But this all adds up in HP forums there are people with the same issue with same network adapter so I raised a fault to Realtek by email. Thanks for the programs ..... Also it cannot be viruses since I have done scan factory reset etc.... also I do not really get this

What do you mean by bad? like hacking and that nooby stuff?

Everything you do whether it be on the internet or not, puts stuff in your temporary directories.. you'll want to clear this often if you do "bad" things..

"bad" things are going to any website that stores information on your computer that you don't want or care for.. (no it doesn't necessarily mean pornography etc.. it means anything like install programs that leave behind files and cookies/cache and/or windows updates etc..

basically "Temporary" files!

ccleaner deletes them also but TFC.exe is a serious powertool that obliterates the temporary folders.. try it..

Just run Ccleaner or better, TFC and look at what it deletes...
