Domain map disappears... sometimes...

I have a computer that is running windows 8.1 pro and connects to a domain. Most times it works fine... other times, the domain map will disappear from the network. It can still access other computers by typing in the name of the computer it is trying to access. It's a workaround that I can manage but other users are not as computer savvy and i get trouble calls about it when it acts up.

I was curious as to if there was a reason it might be doing this? and is there a way to get it to stop doing that.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I think if the other PC is in sleep, screen saver or hibernate, it won't be there.

That might be the case, however; the domain network map shows up on other computers connected to the domain. And even on the pc that the map disappears on, I can still access the computers, it's the map itself that disappears
