help with connecting to network

I decided to change the security passphrase on my router, I figured I could then just reconnect to the router from my devices with the new password. It worked fine with my printer and my phone, but my HP windows 8.1 laptop will not connect, I go to networks you know where the networks come in from the right side, I see my network listed, I click connect and it will not do it, I thought it would ask for the new password just as my phone and printer did, but the laptop does not ask for a password, it just says it cannot connect, how do I enter my new network password in? thanks.

When you try to go into your router to connect you say you can see it have you tried right click and does anything come up like exit forget about this connection.
If it comes up forget about this connection then press it and it should uninstall.
restart your laptop and then see if you can see it again, if you can then put in your new password.
you may have to enter it twice once to confirm that the passwords match.
I did that to mine and it reconnected and worked fine.

Forget the connection then re-add it..
