Hello Guys ,
I have Asus K550L Laptop
Working on Windows 8.1

my issue is that i installed more than wifi adapter during last few months to try which of them works better for me and stuff...

well i finally decided that ALFA AWUS036NHV is the one i want to use as my wifi adapter so i installed it and started working on it but i get many connection hiccups and issues.

and i been recommended to disable , deactivate and delete all the old wifi adapters
and also disable the wifi adapter that built in the laptop and to get my new adapter to work successfully.

the problem is i really don't know much about this stuff so i actually don't know which are the old ones that needed to be deleted and how to do so..
so can you please guide me to disable all the old stuff and reinstall my new adapter?

Regards

  • OS
    Windows 8.1
    Computer type
    Laptop
    System Manufacturer/Model
    ASUS / K550L

Go in Network and Sharing, click on Change Adapter Settings on left side, right click on an adapter not being used and select disable, it should then appear with a red X. When only the adapter you want to use is active and enabled, do you have good signal strength, does it drop connections, can you see other connections available?

Any that are dimmed (not connected), right click and Uninstall.
