Win8.1 HP desktop with both Ethernet and WiFi. Neither connect to websites, and I get errors when I tried to fetch email, but when I ping URLs in command prompt, I get 4 good returns. The network icon in the system tray shows the network name and "Internet Access."
I have reset IE11 to default settings, but this doesn't resolve the problem. Also disabled and re-enabled adapter.
Was on the phone with Verizon, and they tried lots of stuff. They said my router is good. Another laptop on the same router using Wifi is able to connect to websites using both IE and Chrome.
Both TCP/IP 4 and 6 are set to DHCP.
Short of doing a restore to out-of-the-box config, is there anything else I can try? Are there any freebie utils to detect and fix internet connectivity problems?
TIA
Ken
