Wireless connection drops at random intervals only for me.

The Wi-Fi connection drops intermittently, it doesn't disconnect, it just drops. When I check the Wi-Fi in the Task Manager Performance tab, it goes from normal to 0 Sent and 0 Received packets every couple of seconds.
Here are things I have already tried:

    1. Unticked "Allow computer to turn off this device" in the Power Management tab.
    2. Put both Plugged and Un-Plugged on "Maximum performance" on my power plan.
    3. Changed my channel.
    4. Changed location of my laptop.

You have the Ralink 3290 adapter, it is a known problematic adapter. Can try the solution in the second reply here: Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter, Problem: connection ... - HP Support Forum - 3616723

You mentioned in that reply to restart. I am not sure what to restart? Restart my laptop, my Wi-Fi, my router?

So many different things with that adapter come up with a search. Try disabling IPv6 as described here: Windows 8.1 dropping Wireless Connection - Microsoft Community

Tried that also, doesn't work. Do these solutions have any logic behind them? The people there often times offer no explanations.

About all I got left is try some different driver versions or buy/borrow a usb wifi dongle to see if it works better.
