How to only allow specific machines to access shares?

Hi guys,

I think this should be a fairly simple one, but I've had no luck in nailing down a solution on my own.

I have three systems (named "A57", "M58" and "T400"), on each I've shared the data partition (D: with access of "Full Control" for "everyone". This seems a bit risky to me, even though it's a home network, it does go through our internet router.

Each machine can see the shares on the other two.I'm only using simple networking, with no domain set up or anything like that. The workgroup is just set to the default "WORKGROUP".

What I'd like to do is limit access to the shares, so that only the three machines can access them. The user account I'm using on each machine is an admin-level account. The account names for each machine are as follows:

A57 = a57user
M58 = m58user
T400 = t400user

What permissions/settings do I need to set on each of the shares to only allow these three machines to access each others network shares?

Cheers,

Mike.

Use Password protection for security. The only problem is that they get full access to every share. You are better off using a NAS, if you want to only allow individuals to those shares that their user ID on the NAS allows.
