I'm having to constantly connect to network

Hello, l'm running Windows 8.1 on my Thinkpad 10 20C1001DUS and I'm constantly getting disconnected from mt WiFi. I'm not getting disconnected while using my tablet, it only and mostly happens when I let it sleep for a while or shut it down and come back later. I opened event viewer but have no clue what im looking for. Help this is getting to be annoying...

How far away are you from the WiFi Access Point?

Could be router signal strength itself, can check with your provider too, interference between the 2.

Any red errors in Event Viewer under Custom Views, Administrative Events ? Feel dropouts are probably not major errors, what about other devices on this router, how are they doing, ethernet or WiFi ? Network adapter drivers up to date ?

everything is up to date. i have two errors but the have to do with something else.

Most issues point more towards loosing it when you are using it, not loosing it when you boot up or from sleep. I know my tablet seems be same from a cold boot after few seconds will connect. Can be many things can disturb a wireless signal of any kind, other wireless devices ( cell phones, cordless phones, even metal objects).

Cordless phones on the 2.4Ghz band are notorious for messing with WiFi.

See that !! Thanks, buddy ! Mine does the same when i first boot and some periods it can loose it mattering to where i am.

I know this is way to obvious, but a lot of tablets and/or computers have a setting that, if turned off, you have to re-authenticate upon wake. Are you sure that there is no setting that you can check to see if you have the wifi set to "remember" or "auto connect"?

I would have to look at mine, must be in power management settings.

i dont have cordless phones we only have cell phones

Only wireless devices in house ? Were not saying for sure this can be issues, but can cause interference, even metal objects can. Have any other wireless devices connect to this router, iphone ?

Yes several and the only one out of all my devices is this tablet.

Alright, then it is most likely due to WiFi settings, again similar to power management settings. Check this solution, see if it works.

Truthfully i do not even find that option on mine through the device manager under Network adapters, seems be an issue for many, possible update from windows maybe. Chnging power plan to maximum will defeat idea of sleep and saving power for battery.

Mine doesnt have this setting either.... Maybe when windows 10 comes out it will fix my issue?

Yeah i believe that particular settings might be more on laptops or desktops or certain network adapters. All you can do which i did was look through all network settings in control panel, other then that power settings, change power plan to be able to change this setting. Yes possible update could of caused this.

The Clue you say this happen mostly after sleep or shut down, In your power Options/ Advanced options/ Wireless Adapter Setting I keep mine at Maximum performance so it won't shut off and disconnect!!
