The wifi on my laptop is as slow as a snail right now and I have no idea why. Everything else that's using wifi seems to be working just fine, it's just my damn laptop that's having problems. Just going on the internet on my laptop is super frustrating because the the wifi problem. Anyone have an idea what the problem is?

update: I just did a speed test on my laptop and it says in getting 42Mbps DL and 6Mbps UL, but the internet on my laptop is as slow as a snail

Be sure the adapter is not set to any kind of power saving or efficiency mode in Device Manager. Does it do the same with IE or other browser?

I looked into this problem a little more and I saw that I installed the Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - WLAN - Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter when I did the windows update. I'm pretty sure I had to hide this update because of this exact problem happening each time I installed it. So I thought I'd do a system restore to put my pc back to a point before I installed that update and i got the "windows ran into a problem and has to restart" error message twice before I just shut down my laptop. I was able to log into my laptop after turning back on, but now my laptop is acting weird. So I'm most likely going to have to do a full factory restore again
