Hi
I have been searching, but not much luck yet. I have heard many horror stories about hooking up your tv to your network, but it seems it would be as safe? Is it?
Forgot, I mean to connect to Amazon Prime Videos and stuff like that.

I mean I can use mac filtering for one. It does WPA Personal also.

Anyway, any thoughts on this subject?

Thanks very much

PF

My Samsung TV is connected to my home network - so I can watch Netflix and Amazon Prime on it (with its built-in apps). My Vizo TV is also connected the same way. My home network router has a firewall so its safe (as safe as the other computers on my network). Also the Samsung (probably Vizo too) has a setup section for "network security/firewall" but I just leave mine at the default settings.

Are they wireless or hard wired?

I have my Vizo TV connected wirelessly, and my Samsung connected by hard wire (CAT5e). Of course "wired" is preferred if you have a choice.

My son's Samsung Smart TV is connected through a switch to our router. Wireless can be iffy if you do not have a strong enough signal for it, where it sits.

I wish it were a choice but it isn't. Thanks for the help
You can use the Ethernet over Power units, if unable to pull Cat-5e or Cat 6. If there is Coax for CATV, you can use MoCA adapters for networking.
