Always have to diasble/enable network card

Have an issue with my network card. Sometimes when I turn my laptop on, I have to disable/enable the network card in order to get access to the router. When I click on the wireless logo nothing appears unless I disable/enable my netword card, so that I can connect the router and then access the internet.

Would help to know system specs. Make/model of laptop, make/model of wireless adapter. Be sure to turn off any power saving for the adapter and set Windows to connect automatically to the network. Also be sure adapter is set to connect even if SSID is not being broadcast.
