How to disable Onedrive at startup

    Hello,

I would like to disable Onedrive at startup. The problem is, it is a non-admin account.

I have tried from the task manager / startup, but I coudn't see anything relating to Onedrive.

In the task scheduler or the services, I couldn't see anything like disabling Onedrive at startup, too.

After I would have deleted it at startup, I would like to know how to launch it manually.

If someone had a solution, that would be much helpful. Thanks.

One Drive stores the Roaming Profile of the user. You disable that, then a Live account cannot log into another Windows 8 machine and have their profile pic, etc. If you want to stop that process, just go to OneDrive Integration in Windows 8.1 - Enable or Disable

I hope there could be something simpler. I wanted to launch it only once every two or three days, but it think it's not possible.
Onedrive is far too integrated to Windows 8 for my needs.
I don't see myself changing a registry key or the group policy every two or three days, but there seems to be no other solution.

    Thanks for your help.

There is never a easy road when dealing with today's OS's. That post is the best one out there.

    Today's OS

I wish Onedrive were a little less integrated. I keep using it for now. The best solution would probably, for me, to keep it integrated for the days I need it, but on another Windows user. That would prevent it from slowing startup. I always try to keep startup programs and services at a minimum, but that time I couldn't.

Not going to happen. Same thing with IE, since it is used to handle File Explorer. With One Drive being used for the Roaming Profile. It is always going to be there, when you log in as a Live account. If it is a Local Account, then yes One Drive should not even be running.

Yep, I'll have to switch from Live account to local account. Only use the Live account for Onedrive, the Local account for my everyday's needs.

I'd prefered not to have to create another account. That's how it is.

Some do, by using the Local account as a limited access account, to keep it from getting infected. You can set up to allow the local to access any items in the live account.

As for slow start ups. Windows 8 does housekeeping and tune ups in the boot phase. One Drive should not go online, until a user logs in.

If you still have a mechanical or platter drive installed. SSD's will speed things up. Along with leaving Hibernate enabled, so you can take advantage of Fast Boot and Hybrid shutdown.
