Hello
VPN/Exchange trouble!
Although I can get one Win8.1 PC to connect to our companies MS Exchange (and download emails using Office 2013), I can't get my second Windows 8.1 PC to do the same thing.
I am aware that I need to connect a VPN before connecting Outlook but what setting need to be the same and on my 2nd PC? Either way the VPN does *seem* to say it is connected. (i.e. If I click on the network icon it says "connected" top right underneath the VPN name. Also I can map the VPN drive and open it!)
Here are some of my settings which are the same on both PCs.
A) VPN Settings
Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > [Rightclick on MyVPN] > Properties > Security >
Type of VPN ==> Automatic
Data Encryption ==> Require Encryption
Authentication ==> Allow these protocols
Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol ==> Ticked
MS-CHAP v2 ==> Ticked
Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > [Rightclick on MyVPN] > Properties > Networking
Internet Protocol Version 4 > Properties > Use the following DNS Server addresses
However Outlook is having none of it and says: "The name cannot be resolved. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable"
What other setting do I need to make sure that they are the same?
In fact how can I test whether the VPN is set up correctly and running at all?
Thanks
J
