Hi, thanks for letting me join the forum.
My problem started last Tuesday afternoon when I tried to connect on my Windows 8.1 PC and the above message appeared. Windows Network Diagnostics reported that (1) "Ethernet " doesn't have a valid IP configuration, and (2) The default gateway is not available. My PC has a wired (Ethernet) connection and my router is a TalkTalk D-Link DSL -3680 Broadband Wireless N150 ADSL 2+. The router appears to be working all right, all lights are green except WPS which is not lit. Lan 1 and Lan 2 flash on and off quite rapidly. I have checked the wiring, everything seems to be working.
Unfortunately I cannot plug straight into the master socket as it is on a different floor, but I have had very little trouble with it over several years.
I have taken some photos of the test results which I could attach if it would help.
I should add that internet on both my tablet and mobile phone are fine, hence my being able to send this.
I'm hoping that someone will be able to help.
