    You're showing 99% signal strength with 72Mbps throughput which is good.

    Could try booting in safe mode with networking to see if it acts the same. Just be careful what you do.

    The Intel 3160 is a older card. The newest one is the 7260, which I have two laptops with that unit. My son got a Netgear USB wifi adapter, because at his school, it is hard to get a good signal in the rooms, because of the building being Concrete Block.

    He said that worked a lot better than the onboard adapter.

    the thing I don't understand is ive been using it absolute fine in exactly the same place same hardware ect for 3 months, could it be from the providers side (BT)?

    It should but sometimes you lose some speed using one. Also if the real problem is hardware going bad it isn't going to cure that. It may gradually get worse.
