Spy or monitor activity on network PCs?

Hi, is there any tool that can help my monitor the activity on the PCs in my network? Or at least the internet activity?

I have a small office with around 6 PCs. Now the thing is internet isn't so great in my country so on my low speed plan if anyone keeps something on download it slows down the internet of the entire network.

I would also like to monitor if the employees are doing their work or not.

Is there any tool I can do this with?
Also I don't want to disable entire internet access cause my employees need to send EMails.

For starters, you can create a free OpenDNS account and use OpenDNS an all computers.
Free version allows you to block about 60 categories for your IP, it will prevent access to them.

Already done that. But I still want to monitor activity of each PC individually.

There are several top-notch business-level network monitoring programs, I'm sure you already know the real deep effective ones are not free; and, very few allow total control of intranet as well as internet operations. I googled a long time ago, I suspect the list has changed.

The only way would be to use a computer as a proxy that is running pfSense. Along with using a Domain Setup, so you can further restrict what they are doing. pfSense is the free way of going, compared to having to spend thousands of dollars on a unit that does Firewall, Packet Inspection, etc..

As for the Domain, it allows you to further restrict what they can and cannot do when logged into the workstation and network.

Wow, what router is that?

In my specs, Asus RT-AC56R(U). There are several other models that will also do it such as the RT-AC66R(U) and RT-N66R(U). I am also running Merlin custom firmware on it.
