    DNS server is not responding

    Hey guys!

    I'm dealing with a very weird problem here with my Wifi connection. I had no problem with it, but one day, when I was using my laptop the energy (of my house) went off for a few minutes and since this happened the relationship between my laptop and router went full retard.

    I had this problem for the first time when the power come back and couldn't figure out how to solve. So, I called the technical support of my internet service provider and at the time they managed to fix it. But guess what, someone here in my house turned the router off by accident and the problem showed up again. As I saw the technician fixing at the first time, I tried to solve by myself and somehow it worked, but that's when I realized: my laptop is the source of the problem, because everytime this happens, when I reset the router, any device connects to it normally as long as I don't try to connect my laptop and if I try, everybody loses the connection.

    I tried:

    • Change DNS address;
    • ipconfig /flushdns;
    • ipconfig /release;
    • ipconfig /renew
    • Set up a new connection (it actually works, but not always and I have to change Wifi name everytime)

    This is the fourth time this happens and finally I came here to ask for help after realizing that in the safe mode the connection works fine even in my laptop. So, how can I identify which program or anything else is the cause of this mess?

    Thanks in advance!!

    Check router's DHCP IP range pool and administration settings. It sounds like your laptop has assigned IP, which negates IP range for other devices or probably, when it detects an administrator's IP login, it disconnects other devices for security purposes. By the way, what is your router?

    I don't know exactly how to see or change that, can you help me? I believe the name of my router is DareGlobal TA04G-TF2 (RT633X) 2-Port FTTH and it uses the software OpenRG when I go to 192.168.1.1/padrao, then I put admin and the password and it show settings in the OpenRG software.

    Wow, OpenRG's GUI seems very confusing, I can not make head or tail of it.
    575 pages for a guide? Maybe someone else can help. I would buy another router.

    IP range pool should be under Firewall - NAT.

    Oh, so this is what you meant with IP Range Pool Since English it's not my native language I didn't know I've changed this already. I tried to find more administrator's settings to change, but the software seems to be very restrictive to configure

    Apparently it seems I managed to solve all the problems just doing OpenRG's reset to factory settings at 192.168.1.1/padrao Thanks for your help anyway TairikuOkami!
