I am using the lastest Apple Airport Extreme Router which supports 2Ghz and 5Ghz bands. There are 3 iPhones, 4 iPads, and 2 Apple TV's in my home. All of which can access the 5GHz channel effortlessly. My PC on the other hand will ONLY see the 2Ghz band. I have tried everything that I can think of to no avail. I want my PC to connect to the 5Ghz band. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Maybe your computer wireless adapter is not dual-band? It is n not ac compatible.
Would help to know exactly what model it is.

Thanks for the fast response. Here is the model. I see now that it seemingly only supports the 2Ghz band. Oh well, time to upgrade my adapter. Thanks anyhow.

Hey, totally understandable, this stuff changes so quickly and it seems dual-band is just now starting to really become popular.

You would only need to get a Dual Band, if the 2.4ghz channels around you are very congested.

The 5Ghz is better for local streaming from my experience. Plus I can stream while the wife surfs on the 2.4., seems to work better for the both of us. :)

It all depends on the quality of the equipment and the horsepower under the hood on the A/P.

My Asus router does a pretty good job.

My Asus router does a pretty good job.
That depends on which model. If you have taken a peek at my system specs, you know I am not doing the whole all in one setup. With three of us in the household, we push the wireless side pretty hard. Streaming devices are all wired to the Netgear GS108 Switch and Cisco RV320 Router. I have yet caused my infrastructure choke up. Now of course with having U-Verse and the Gateway I got for Internet only. I tend to cause it to choke on CRC correction daily, from watching Netflix all day (disabled and nothing I have not seen always on tv).

If Google Fiber ever comes to my city, not much to swap out.
