Laptop won't connect to wifi on first boot/start-up

Hi there,

So my problem looks quite easy yet rare enough to find a solution searching google and forums.

Whenever I return home and boot up my laptop my laptop won't connect to wifi on the first try. I don't have "automatic connect" enabled. I just wait till it's booted and try to connect which it won't. If I then shut down my laptop and reboot it again I will be able to connect immediately.
Same routine everytime. It's not that much of a pain but it's a bit weird to have to start up the laptop twice in order to connect to wifi.

For testing, turn off Fast-Boot in UEFI or BIOS.

Why not have connect automatically enabled? Does it connect right away when you do?

Popeye, I hope OP tries setting of connect automatically -- to the known in-house wifi. I have auto for one neighbor, and can connect using another neighbor if need be. I have received their permission long ago to do, if I need to, if my own wireless goes down for a day or so.
Unless my "carrier-level" boot temperarily has a hiccup, I usually connect to both hardwire and wireless with desktop, laptop & android Tab3.
