I have a printer attached to a windows 7 PC via USB. I have another PC with Windows 8.1 that I want to use to print. I have shared the printer on Windows 7 PC. When I try to install the printer on the 8 PC, I get the attached. What user name and password are they asking for? The 7 or 8 PC? Untitled.jpg

Are we talking sharing via wireless? If so, I don't have an answer 'cause I had the same problem with my Win7Pro & Win8 [until I went all Win7Pro]. If talking hardwire, was easier than wireless. Can you presently share portions of your data partition amongst the two computers?
For future printing ease, I think you may have to temporarily attach the printer to the 2nd computer, get the drivers up to speed. Try sharing again. Can printer be attached to either computer? It's possible that one OS will do better sharing printer than the other OS.

I went back to look at settings one more time and everything was set correctly. I rebooted both PCs and then tried to install on the 8 machine. It did not ask for a password and loaded just fine. Their Microsoft updates were installed last night. They informed me that on the 7 machine the task-bar moved from the bottom to the left side. All seems well now.

It's asking for the U/N and P/W of the Windows 7 PC.
