How to include networked library folder in File History.

So what I'm trying to do is include a networked folder in my File History backup. I used mklink /d "LINK" "TARGET" to create a directory symbolic link on my computer to the computer with the desired folder. All was successful but when I try to backup the Library in File History, it just skips right over it. Do the files have to physically be on the hard drive to be backed up with File History or does a pointer to another computer's folder not work?

That is correct that it does not touch Libraries. It is only used to back up immediate user settings. If you wish to backup files, you need to get a NAS and use a backup program to do that.

File history seemed to be working OK. But then I added a library in Windows Explorer with my Google Drive folder. I don't have much stuff in this folder, less than 1GB. The problem is that File History is not backing up this folder in its backups. Do I have to delete the file history backup...
I've had File History set up for the past few months on my desktop. Problem is, this entire time, one of the libraries I had set up solely for backup was never actually included in the backup. I think I've figured out what is happening, but if I'm right, it means that Microsoft has taken out...
I have an Asus Transformer that comes with a 30GB SSD and 8.1 - so space is at a premium. I put my user files on a 64GB MicroSD card and was trying to Include the folders into the relevant libraries. I decided to give W8.1's 'File History' a try because I'm tired of Acronis TIH orphaning incremental backups (I doubt it was fixed in 2014 edition). The problem is I have a folder '$OF' that has many files in it with the naming convention of: 4593 (2013_11_09 21_33_36 UTC).mp3 -Of course each...
