Solved AC router advice. 2nd wave available??

Hi:
I want to set up a faster local network for a Windows 8.1 laptop, a Windows 7 laptop and a NAS device. My modem is a Windstream (the DSL provider) Sagem 1704N combination modem router. 404 | Sagemcomf


I am considering one of these routers.

[FONT=&amp]1 My W8.1 computer uses an Intel Duel Band Wireless AC7260 which is 802.11ac. Or might this be one of the early ACs that would not match the throughput of an additional 802.11ac USB Wi-Fi adapter. [/FONT]

2 Is the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] wave in use, yet? Are the above routers wave 2? Will even faster routers be available this summer? The more I read the more confused I become.

I just installed a 7260.HMWWB.R in my laptop and getting 866.7Mbps throughput on local network.

As far as the routers I have no experience or opinion on 2nd wave. So new I haven't dealt with it and no idea if one router is better than the other. I doubt I will be needing it for a long time, if ever. I would read as many reviews as possible. I do like RT routers because of the ability to use custom firmware.

PS: Heck I've only caught up with normal dual-band recently, no way I'm ready yet for 2nd wave!
