I've read several posts here and elsewhere and still can't seem to get this problem resolved. I have two computers running Windows 8.1 on my network, one is my main PC and the other is a HTPC in the living room. On the HTPC I am logged into a local account named Bob and I have a few programs running 24/7 on them I wish to access/alter settings now and then using my main PC where I am logged in with a MS account called Ralph.
I have remote desktop allowed on both computers and both computers only have one user account on them, Bob for the htpc and ralph for the main pc. In windows explorer on the main pc I select the htpc and hit the connect with remote desktop and enter bob and the password for that account but it won't log in. The same thing happens when I log off user bob and try to remote connect from the main PC using the bob account, it won't let me log in.
So my question is just how can I make changes to those programs running on the htpc using remote desktop or should I just try something else?
