    yes, that thing is what showed up out of no wear. it is not in the list in the control panel so I cannot delete it. I did the

    search this pc thing and several things showed up. so, is there anyway to get rid of this thing?

    Sorry, what are you saying popped up or what you were searching for?

    The "Homegroup"?

    I'm not sure what the issue is but maybe there are some tutorials here that maybe able to help?

    If you mean a Homegroup icon on your desktop, then this below may be able to help remove it.

    when I open my this pc, there it is. I want it gone because this is the only computer here and will only be 1 and I and even know where it came (homegroup) from

    Thank you for the screenshot, the master of tutorials (Brink) has a tutorial for this here:

    Does this explain/help remove it for you?

    not working. do I need to create a home group in order to get rid if it. it is still in the middle if that list on the left of that screen shot. want that gone to.

    I stopped the HomeGroup Provider via services.msc but it keeps randomly coming back, not like an icon on Desktop, but like in this screenshot.

    See if stopping and disabling both services below and restarting the PC afterwards may get rid of it.
