Would Downgrading to Windows 8.0 Solve My Connection Bugs?

    Hiya! Me again.

After having major problems with that laptop before, we sent it back. Was told it was something to do with the processor, and such, so I have a new one now. It's a Toshiba Satelite. Everything's been absolutely fine with it, part one thing. The internet keeps disconnecting randomly and being replaced with Limited Connection. After looking online, I've found there's a trend, basically everyone who has Windows 8.1 has been having this problem, and many never being able to find a permanent fix.

I'd like to downgrade to Windows 8.0. I've been told it will fix all my internet problems. If this is so, how can I do that? I don't need to pay, or anything, do I? It's pretty easy to downgrade, right?

    Thank you!

I don't have internet problems at all, Sound to me link your having a driver problems for you Wi-Fi card? I would look on Toshiba's Support download page for your model and install the latest Wi-Fi Driver.
In fact this is Window 8 forum an I don't think we see an inordinate amount of issues about Wi-Fi connections problems. There were some issues with Wi-Fi drivers when window 8 fist came out that was solve by the manufacture of Wi-Fi card pretty quickly and most issues were solved by installing the correct driver?

Oh, okay. Must have been a bias. Sorry. Just many of the sites I looked at, people on them did say it was Windows 8.1 that is to blame.

Possibly? I don't know. I'm not tech savvy at all, so I have no idea what one is :P I should have researched on here for people with the same problems, but didn't think of that. Okay, sure! What am I looking for? Sorry for the late reply... My internet decided to stop working totally, for a while...

Well sir if you don't understand how to upgrade a driver perhaps you should take the machine back to the seller and see if they can fix the problem for you. Window 8.1 is not your problem unless your WI-FI card does not support windows 8.1 Again Toshiba Support website would have the correct driver or you would see that there either is no need to upgrade the diver or that your Wi fi card does not support windows 8.1. Not all do, Asus had a driver written for 8.1 for My notebook. So your answer is going to be on the Toshiba support website or take it to a shop that understand the problem and can download and install the driver for you.

If you can update your specs (they still say Lenovo G505) or post the exact model of Toshiba Satellite we can see if we can find the right driver for you.

Okay! I'll check the Toshiba site. Can you still do that? I think I got mine from Argos, or something, but it's still in warranty, so I assume you can do that? I will update my specs. Just need to get that tool again. I'll go and do that now. Thank you

You've not filled in the model number. Googling the motherboard ZBWAA and the processor N2840 indicates it could be a satellite model C50-B or C55-B. If that looks right (you can check your model by looking on the sticker on the back - FAQ: Where is my model and serial number on my Toshiba laptop) you can get drivers from Satellite C55-B5200 Support | Toshiba

This fix from Dell supposed to help on other brands too.

Also does the problem only happen when you run on battery power? there is a different fix for that.

And did you tell the computer not to sleep the wifi adapter?

I have. It says C50-B something. Probably filled the wrong box. Sorry!

I'll try that :) Battery power? I think it's always on battery power, as it's on a laptop, no? Unless you mean the difference between charging and not, then I don't know. I'll have to check that theory out.

I have no idea how to do that, so I guess not? Do I need to do something with it?
