Making & Or Purchasing the correct cables to extend Cable.

Can I purchace wire to extend the following devices?
A. USB Cable
B. Audio (WebCam)/Video
C. If so how thorough do you need to be with the foil wrapped around the cables?
If I wanted to share a mouse for examples: Could I buy a blank screw terminal and split the wires apart, connect them to designed screws and add another device (which is the same) :Mouse ex:/Keyboard

you can get USB and A/V extended cable from just about any where.. If you need to share a usb extension just get a usb hub..

there are more then just two wires involved - so best not to go splicing them
