Go to Control Panel>Programs>Unintall Programs, check is there a bluetooth driver installed, if there is, uninstall it, then you will be able to send and receive files.

It would be helpful to know more about the issue than "cannot send files FROM my laptop to my tablet". Does it try but timeout? Do you get an error? What exactly is the issue?

This problem occurred in my 3 computers of different made, and solved with the same method.

If your machine allowes, export the software to usb, you may want to install it again.

well this is what i came up with. when i got home tonight. i tried to send/receive another file from my Toshiba running w8.1 to my htc evo smart phone..fail. i then tried the same thing on all the other phones in my house, two Samsung s3's and a kyocera. after i paired them..WIN! the 3 newer phones are Bluetooth 4.0 same as the laptop, where as i looked in the htc (yeah, dad has the oldest one while the wife and kids get the loot. LOL) it is 3.0. would that be the reason why it wont send/receive files to or from the laptop? or am i still missing some kind of setting?

After some reading on other forum sites such as android and HTC, the conclusion is that the device is not compatible with windows operating systems. No driver packages or change of settingings will work. I guess this is solved. Thanks for those who helped. :)

when i first made this post, i was having the issue of

sending files through my bluetooth (Samsung tab 4) to my windows 8 laptop, sending files FROM tablet to laptop i experienced NO issues

when sending files through bluetooth (laptop) to my Samsung Tablet, i would get the "paired item would like to send files, would you like to accept or decline"

after clicking accept, the dl speed would drop to 0% and say "an unexpected error has occurred"

tried again a couple weeks later and have NO issue.. i didn't uninstall or re-install anything...

just glitchy weird stuff
