    Win8.1 Pro | Win10TP Pro - boot to VHD


    Make sure there aren't any bent pins. Use a flashlight to look inside the connector.

    If you see something out of line and attempt to straighten the connector pins
    Remove all power, including the battery
    Press and hold the power button for 2 full minutes to discharge the any residual charge

    Use a plastic tool if you try it.

    Laptops get moved sometime before realizing the cable is still connected.

    I see nothing out of line. My device manager nor network settings no longer even recognize an ethernet port. HP doesn't list an ethernet driver nor a model name for me to track down online.

    The NIC on the motherboard may be dead. Could try booting in Safe Mode with networking and see if it works.
