Hi all! And merry christmas too!

I've stumbled upon a problem and seem to have summoned up an dead end.
I'm trying to use the virtual network sharing tool in windows 8 which I have successfully used before. This time I've done the same as before but don't get the sharing to work.
I'm familiar with the "netsh wlan set hostednetwork"-commands and I have gotten a Wifi-network up and running that I can connect to with other devices. I have an usb-stick with 3G-network installed and have Internet on the host computer.

Here is the problem: When I go to the internet settings for the 3G-network and the "sharing"-tab, I check the box for allowing other users to connect to this computer, and choose "Connection to local network* 14". When I press OK the connection shows as "shared" for a few seconds, after which the sharing drops. When I look again at the "sharing"-tab the box is unchecked.
I've googled the interwebs and found no one with the same issue (either that or I have used bad search terms..), as I said, the Wifi works and the Internet on the host computer works - the problem is the sharing option.

Here is some screenshots, please advice if you need to se anything else!

I found some forum where the tip was to go via "run" and type in "services.msc" where I should look for "Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)" and activate it - but when I do I get an error message that says "The Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs". That for me indicates that there is no program that needs the ICS to be on, but does it need to be?

Thank you in advance, thank you for taking your time to help to save my holidays!
Enjoy your christmas!
/Mikael
