I have a Windows 8.1 64-bit laptop and a few days ago i ran into an issue.None of my apps on the start screen connect to the internet even though the internet is connected and i'm able to browse the net.I'm not sure but i think this happened right after i uninstalled Kaspersky Internet Security.I looked around and thought it's a firewall problem but nothing is blocked in the firewall.I tried restoring default settings in firewall and even tried re-installing Kaspersky but that didn't work.I also tried installing third party firewall software like Comodo but that didn't help either.I ran scans with Kaspersky and Malwarebtytes but they didn't find anything.

I downloaded a microsoft troubleshooter and it said i needed to trust my PC and that apps and start screen sync was turned off

But i can't change any sync setting since it says that OneDrive is not connected to the internet.

What do i do? :(

I believe it has something to do with your computer not trusting your Microsoft account. USE INTERNET EXPLORER as it is reported Chrome and Firefox does not work with Microsoft Account login.

One of the great benefits of running Windows 8 on multiple PC’s you own, you can easily sync common settings across computers such as passwords for apps, websites, networks in addition to other benefits such as themes, backgrounds and color schemes. To do this, you need to trust your Windows PC.
Start by launching Change PC Settngs (Windows + I)

Under PC settings, click Users tab

On the right hand side of the screen click Trust this PC

Sign into your Microsoft account which can be either a Windows Live ID, Hotmail, MSN or Outlook.com

Click Next to Confirm your computer as a trusted PC or you can visit a existing trusted PC and do the confirmation there from Sign in to your Microsoft account.

The PC’s you sign in with your Microsoft Account from now on will be a lot more seamless.

YoloWaffle, I have never had any issues with the Microsoft live account and Chrome.

The issues are not related to you, just the login for your Microsoft Account. I was just explaining to use Internet Explorer when logging into your Microsoft Account as for everyone (including me) there is some issue that Microsoft has not fixed.
