    Adapter Can't Find 5ghz

    Router is Netgear R6200
Laptop isn't capable, but I have a wireless adapter ( EDIMAX Technology - Official Website - N150 - Wireless nLITE 3dBi High Gain USB Adapter ) that should recognize the 5ghz band, I went into all my router settings, everything checks out out.. look at the properties under the adapter, enabled for Adhoc support for 802.11n, great.
Looking at available networks, and the 5ghz band is still nowhere to be found. Not under wifi 2, of course, under the adapter.

That's a single band adapter, it just does not do 5 GHz. Look at the detailed specification.

You need an adapter that states it supports "dual band" like this one: EDIMAX Technology - Official Website - AC1200 Wireless Dual-Band USB Adapter. If you just purchased the one you have maybe you could return it and get one that supports dual band.
