Just seen another thread on something similar, which has prompted this. My printer mentioned above uses wifi to connect to the house pc and laptops for sharing etc. I got so fed up of wifi switching itself off after a period of none use, I resorted to plugging in the usb. I tried reinstalling the printer, checking for latest software via the HP software that does it for you, it reports all in order.
Under usb the printer will still go 'dormant' but always comes awake when I want to print something. Under wifi, it wont.
I presume this will be a task for HP support?
