I believe I have. There's something confusing to the drivers. On MSI's website, they have a 1.1.42 version and on Qualcomms' there is the 1.1.38 which they have as the latest. Now on this other website, driverscape, they have version 2.1.0.21 so I really don't know which one is the real latest one. I've already tested out MSI's and it didn't work at all. Maybe I'll give it another try.

Another thing is that I set up a static ip and it didn't work either, it still connects and disconnects. The delete and reboot you suggested got me an instant connection after the reboot but it dropped after 5 seconds.

I would try these on Qualcomm site. You are 64 bit right?

Popeye, I re-installed the latest driver and still nothing seems like I'm hopeless on this one. I set my wired autoconfig to automatic and started the service to see if that helps..

Yeah, that's the one that I'm using. Still nothing. This is really weird I can't figure out why the computer can't 'hold a connection with the modem-router.

Even though they deny it I have to say it has something to do with the equipment your ISP changed out. Especially since it worked before.

I'm going to their offices tomorrow to see if they'll give me my old modem-router back. I'll post update if I get my internet working again.

I found the solution! I went to radioshack and bought a newer cable (the other four I have are around 8-9 years old and they wrapped mostly with black tape except for one which is the one I consider fairly new) and guess what, my internet worked instantly... so thank you again for all your support!

That's good news! I tend to assume people check their cables but my mistake for not asking. However, with so many old questionable ones, you still wouldn't know for sure. I hope you are tossing those old wires.
