Solved No wifi in win 8.1

Reinstalled lan driver and it is not showing in device manager. This is an acer aspire v3-371. Light doesn't come on when I toggle fn-f3 combo.

I think there is a service that is not running or it has been deleted. The driver files seem to have installled but it doesn't show under network adapters in device manager.

Does it appear in Hidden devices? What model adapter does it have?

Lot's of recently dated drivers on the Acer site. That must be a newer model.

It has microsoft wi-fi direct virtual adapter and i got the model wrong. It is model 731-4446 v3.
Downloaded driver from acer. Should i uninstall microsoft driver first?

Apparently I don't have the adapter as ms says to connect the hardware for the wi-fi direct virtual adapter. I am going to download driver again from acer and try to reinstall.

Shouldn't have to, see if they install.

EDIT: I notice there are drivers for just wireless and also a combo wireless/bluetooth. You need to know which one you have.

I am going to install both. I am curious why the wi-fi light does not come on. It is the fourth light of the left front? Windows says the data is invalid. The dwld files show the the same size i am thinking the files are ok.

It's not lighting up because it isn't working. Not sure I would install both. You don't know if you have bluetooth? Are you talking about your wireless or your LAN cable adapter? I'm getting a bit confused here.

We're stabbing at the dark here because you're not sure if you have a bluetooth combo card. Does bluetooth show up in device manager?

Acer says i do have bluetooth and she gave me links to bios and driver updates. I was wondering if win refresh files would work for me?
