I acquired a new laptop and the wifi lease expires.

Does anyone know why the wifi lease expires, and if it's possible to stop it? My laptop is an Acer Aspire v5 running windows 8 64-bit. If anyone knows why, please tell me because i find restarting the wifi every day tedious when working from home. Has this happened to anyone else?

It has nothing to do with your laptop. Your router assigns the lease time and it should be renewed automatically - see Lease Renewals

Have a look at ipconfig /all...and let us know what it says. Your Wifi not working may not be due to IP leasing.

If your Laptop's wifi adapter is not getting a new lease from the Wifi Hotspot or Access point. Next question is, is this your own personally paid Internet connection, or are you using a public wifi hotspot.
