How to choose the network profile?

At the moment, the network profile is set to “guest” in my machine. How to switch it to be “private”, for example?

Thank you

Best

Thanks Kari,

I have an exclamation mark on the internet icon and I couldn’t figure out how to fix it. I need to receive the internet from the Ethernet but not from the WI-FI

How can I fix the issue of exclamation mark on the internet icon?

Is it an unsecured connection? If so, the exclamation will always be there.

Thanks popeye,

Then how to switch it to be secured?

I have three machines that are connected (with CAT 6 cable) with a switch and this switch is connected to the router. Only this machine has an issue (exclamation mark)! By the way, if I choose the connection to be via WI-FI, then this exclamation mark disappears. But I prefer to connect my machines via Ethernet due to performance issue.

How to resolve it?

Hey jamal, that is a different story, I was thinking you were on wireless. So you have the exclamation but still can connect? It usually means a limited connection. When you place the mouse pointer on the icon does it say limited connection?

Thank you popeye,

Hovering over the icon gives “undefined network” (attached)

What other settings should I apply to let it work?

At all. There is no internet through the Ethernet. I can get the machine connected throught the WI-FI only. My issue here is how to get the internet via the Ethernet? What is it not working?

Ok, gotcha now. I'm going to assume you've made sure your cable is good. Are you connecting to a public wifi through the router or do you have a cable modem? If you have a cable modem, what happens when you connect directly to it?

Many thanks for the efforts,

To save our time, I have formatted the machine and now it works fine without playing with hardware or connections.

That issue had to be resolved at the level of configuration but unfortunately, no solution has been introduced.

Best

Jamal
