    Internet Sharing Settings not retained

I can set up sharing of my internet connection with the WiFi hotspot connection and it works fine until I restart my PC.

Then it reverts to a different setting and I have to manually change it back.

Is there a way to make the internet connection sharing settings permanent?

    Thanks!

    Don

Yes. Is it asking you to sign into the WiFi network every time you log into your computer? Are you connecting to different WiFi networks?

Thanks for the response broe23. 'Local Area Connection* 3' is a SoftAP WiFi hotspot. No logon is needed to activate the hot spot. Once the internet connection is shared as in the first image I can log on to the hotspot from my mobile phone or tablet and access the internet using the shared connection. Thanks again,DonB

That would be why your settings keep changing. There are third party programs out there, that act like Connection managers. If you have an intel chipset wifi card in your laptop. The Proset tools also allow you to create profiles.

Thanks again broe23.I took a look at the connection manager for the TPLink USB adapter that I'm using and made a change there that seems to have solved the problem. Hopefully the changes are permanent.cheers,DonB
